Foie Gras Ramen, Uniqlo and a Bloody Mary Tower
Back to the Weekend Part II
A New Little Ramen Joint on Belmont
Sure, it’s been warmer this week. But the weather will inevitably turn. And when it does, you’re going to want a hot bowl of pork, duck or foie gras ramen served in pork bone broth that’s been cooked for 18 hours. Enter: this new noodle joint called Ramenster. Now works, too.
The Cubs. Back to the Future. Beer.
Today is Back to the Future Day. Tonight is the NLCS. You need a plan:
First: Watch the game at High Noon Saloon; drink beer.
Then: Hang around after for a screening of the first two Back to the Future movies; drink more beer.
Beer is evidently integral to this operation.
First, BBQ. Then, a Chocolate Closet.
In the Loop: A new fast-casual BBQ situation with jalapeño-cheddar cornbread and pulled-pork slow-cooked over hardwood. In Streeterville: It’s the second coming of Beatrix, but with a grab-and-go section and a fully stocked chocolate closet. In your head right now: An image of a fully stocked chocolate closet.
A Giant Uniqlo Store on Michigan Ave
Uniqlo, that purveyor of Japanese look-goodery, is opening its first Chicago shop on Michigan Avenue Friday. Get there the same day for sales on their lightweight down jackets, cashmere sweaters and more stuff that’ll feel nice on your person come winter. Sorry we said “winter.”
Your Bloody Mary Has Pizza in It
Us: See that picture to the left?
Us: It’s Bar Toma’s new Bloody Mary tower.
Us: So it has a whole slice of pepperoni pizza floating around in it.
You: Is that gross or not?
Us: Really can’t say.
