A Stunning Panoramic Rooftop Situation

None 10 Photos Bar Hugo
Tonight.

About 10.

Dinner was fantastic.

Your date seems pleased.

You hear a “ding.”

You enter a small box.

You press the “R” button.

And you emerge into Bar Hugo, a panoramic cocktail spot in the sky above Hudson Square, now open at Hotel Hugo. (See the slideshow here.)

Picture a bar with really huge windows and a balcony. And now toss that bar up a few hundred feet in the air and suspend it there, and boom, you’ve got this lounge of leather and skyline.

Things you can see from here:

—The Chrysler Building.
—The Empire State Building.
—All of FiDi.
—The shrubbery of residential Tribeca rooftops.
—Tiny sailboats on the Hudson.
—New Jersey.
—A soccer field you never knew existed right along the Hudson.
—A Light & Breezy—vodka, lime, ginger beer, pink pepper. (That one’s right in front of you.)

There are two floors (the second one is open-air), but only the first will be open this season. Next year, look out for rooftop spin classes.

“Next year” is really your ideal workout schedule anyway.
