Because that’s where you’ll find Boston Calling’s summer block party series, starting with a free show tonight by the Swinging Johnsons. Which might also be bad for double entendre allergies.
They’re Calling It a Hat Happy Hour
Discounting alcoholic beverages is illegal in Massachusetts. However, there’s no law stopping Goorin Bros. from giving you free cocktails and 15% off hats in their Harvard Square store during their Hat Happy Hour every Thursday. The old “hat store” loophole.
AKA Bistro Is Back. Hard.
Lincoln’s French Bistro/sashimi bar, AKA Bistro, shut down from water damage back in December. Now they’re back. And they combined the formerly separate French and Japanese menus into a single, mind-bending list with dishes like seared foie gras with kabayaki chocolate. The old menus must’ve gotten wet.
A New Caffeine Outpost in Symphony
There’s a new café in town called Farmer Horse Coffee. It involves near-infinite cups of Ethiopian coffee. It also involves a bunch of pastries and egg-and-sausage sandwiches. It’s not a real thing unless there’s breakfast sandwiches.
The Arnold Arboretum allows picnicking just one day out of the year. And it just so happens that over 10 food trucks, like Mei Mei Street Kitchen and Frozen Hoagies, are setting anchor there this Sunday. Which is that one day. It’s almost like they planned this.
