Pizza and Garlic Knots on H Street

None 6 Photos Pizza Parts & Service
New York–style pizza.

Apparently, it’s kind of big in New York. And apparently, it’s sort of delicious.

And now, you can get it in a garage on H Street.

Fold a slice in half for Pizza Parts & Service, a casual pizzeria from the Taylor Gourmet guys, now open.

This place has a 1950s mechanics vibe to it. A painting of a vintage Triumph motorcycle fills one wall, B-movie posters are plastered on another, and the trash cans are made from oil drums. Resourceful.

You’ll step up to the counter and order a slice or a full pie. The pizza particulars: thin-crusted but not too cracker-like, topped with housemade mozzarella and your choice of more than two dozen add-ons, like meatballs, salami and bacon. Also: specialty pies like the one with three cheeses, broccoli rabe and Logan’s sausage.

In about a month, they’ll have four beers and two wines. But for now, you’ll have to get by with nonalcoholic stuff. Oh, and things like six types of wings, garlic knots and pizzas served “Nonna-style”: large rectangles with 18-inch sides.

Italian grandmother not included.
