Things to do for March 20, 2014
Swing Dancing, Lobster Rolls and Wu-Tang
You have a collect call from the weekend. Do you accept the charges?
Edible March Madness. That Exists Now.
Pauli’s is rolling out a takeout platter representing each Final Four region. You’ve got California wraps for the West Coast, fried-chicken sandwiches for the South, steak-tip wraps for the Midwest and ratatouille for the Northeast. Just kidding, it’s lobster rolls.
Grill 23 Has a Brand-New Bar for You
Say hello to Grill 23’s just-reopened, completely overhauled bar. It’s got:
—A semi-futuristic, solid-glass back bar.
—A new cocktail list full of housemade vermouths and fennel vodka.
—A first-ever bar menu with burgers and Scotch eggs.
Nice to meet you, too, bar.
Dancing in a Castle Full of Cars
Swing dancing inside a castle full of pre-WWI automobiles sounds like the next Wes Anderson project. But it’s not. It’s your Friday night. Cocktails, a museum tour and swing dance lessons are all part of this little soiree at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. Somebody really thought this through.
A Brazilian Coffee Invasion on Newbury
Where you’d like to be right now: Brazil.
Where you are right now: Boston.
What you can do about it: Get yourself an affogato and a smoked-salmon sandwich at the first US location of this São Paulo coffee conglomerate called Sofá.
Problem sort of solved.
Wu-Tang Cocktails and Bottomless Sushi
There’s an alternate universe where Monday night means consuming endless sushi and pupu platters while guest bartenders craft Wu-Tang–themed tiki drinks for you. And we hear there’s a portal to this universe at Empire. We made the alternate universe part up. The rest is true.
