Fajitas and Tequilas in an Old Law Office

Tacos.

Now you’re paying attention.

Tequila.

Now you’re really paying attention.

A bunch of vintage painted doors.

Now... you’d like us to go back to talking about the tacos and tequila again. Fine.

Take a gander at Campuzano Mexican Food, a refurbished wooden house you’ll visit for fajita lunches, carne asada dinners and copious margarita snacks, now open on Oak Lawn.

Turns out, this place used to be a law office. So, upgrade. Inside, you’ll now find a front bar for drinking after-work Dos Equis. And in the back: a dining room with tufted banquettes, wood-framed windows and an entire wall of vintage doors. None of which are the exit.

So now that you know what you’re working with, go ahead and gauge your desire for chips, salsa and a margarita. High. Real high. Friday and all. Grab a seat on the front patio. It looks into the bar, which is great for summoning stuff. Chips, salsa and margaritas come to mind.

Then, once you’ve had a little time to relax, try this thing called dinner. Here, it’ll probably consist of spicy shrimp tacos, carne asada and double orders of sizzling fajitas.

Careful—hot plate.
