For Dad: 1) Exclusive, mantel-worthy leather baseballs, basketballs and footballs. 2) Vintage-style artwork of his favorite pastimes, framed and 50% off. 3) VIP tickets to Paul McCartney’s sold-out show at Fenway. Actually, this could all be for you, too...
Things to do for June 06, 2013
Two New Rooftops, Strong Women and Gin
The weekend is perfecting its slap shot.
The Return of a Rooftop Dinner Spot
Finding a good table in this town: tough. Finding one on a rooftop: tougher. Finding one on a rooftop farm... just got easier. Homestead has reopened for the season, and new chef Chris Curren is turning out pasta, duck and salads with ingredients grown on site. Well, not the duck.
You need to unwind on Fridays. Maybe with a nice cocktail. Maybe with some good music. Or maybe with a crazy art performance where people disco in strange inflatable costumes simply for your amusement. Or better yet, with all of it.
There’s just something about a strong woman... arm wrestling another strong woman... that you admire. So this event with 16 lady grapplers, a cash bar and two raucous punk bands should make for a fun evening—plus a good test of the firmness of your handshake.
Look! There’s a Roof on the Goat.
The new roof deck on Little Goat Bread means you can bask in sunshine during lunch (a beef sandwich with kimchi and horseradish sounds just about perfect) or just soak up the skyline with a stiff cocktail at night. Either way, your basking/soaking opportunities are off the charts.
Shopping for Clothes and Gin
This is the time of year when you realize just how essential a good pair of sunglasses, some shorts and an overnight bag really are. Also: the time when you buy a tie for Dad. Good news: Dose Market has you covered on all fronts. Better news: they’ve brought gin.
