Brickside Food & Drink

The Brickyard

A Huge Projection Screen and Four Punches

Last night, you learned a couple things. First, New Orleans does parades better than it does power. And secondly, you ought to do this whole game-and-a-beer thing more often.

Here to help you take in some hockey, some NBA and certainly some March Madness: Brickside Food & Drink, now open in Bethesda.

No surprise, you’ll encounter plenty of brick here: on the face of the bar and on the giant wall opposite the bar, where you’ll also see a nod to a famous Baltimore sign, which reads “Vote Against Prohibition.” (The temperance movement just can’t seem to get a toehold these days.)

And while you’re looking for a place to cast that “nay” vote, harden your position with a Starr Pils or maybe one of their four punches, like the Pink Murder Punch, which has both beer and Country Time pink lemonade.

With a larger group, book a table in the dining room in view of the 160-inch projection screen and order up buckets of Rolling Rock ponies along with risotto balls, baby back ribs and aged T-bones prepared for two.

Hang out long enough, though, and you may have to make way for dancing—they’ll have DJs taking over until 2am on weekends.

We’ve been assured their lighting system is sound.
