Classic American Shirts in an Old Jazz Club

Some things you have to wait weeks for. Months, even. Like a Wizards win.

Other things you needn’t wait at all for. Like the perfect spot to suit you up for fall.

So welcome Gant, the very first DC outpost of the legendary Americana brand, now open in Georgetown.

You’ll find this place where the smoky jazz-and-blues club known as the Saloun used to reside. And this store is... well, not a smoky jazz club.

You’ll still see the original bricks with the names of Saloun patrons on them, alongside new subway tile, weathered brass and antique medicine cabinets. But rather than drum kits and pianos, you’ll now find rugbys, varsity jackets and all manner of polos.

Okay, so it’s kinda preppy. So if you just happened to be sculling on the Potomac and looking for something to change into, they’ve got you covered.

But it’s not all cardigans and button-down oxfords. You’ll also find hand-knit zip sweaters, leather bomber jackets (for, you know, ice-skating or something, not actual bombing), twill plaid shirts and the occasional plaid-trimmed snow pants.

Oh, and smart, simple swim trunks.

The first rule of hot tubs: be prepared.
