The Grand Toro

A Downtown Rodizio with Never-Ending Steak

Thanksgiving. That’s a thing happening next week. Bottomlessribeyegiving. That’s a thing... we just made up. But if it were real, you’d celebrate it at Toro Toro, a new Downtown spot for small plates and never-ending rounds of hand-carved steak, now open. Herewith, the all-important (and true) details.

Dubai. The Tapas Capital of the World.
So, yeah, this place comes courtesy of that Latin-food hotbed known as the United Arab Emirates. Which, okay, would normally make you skeptical, but chef Richard Sandoval is also behind this. Guy knows his way around a homemade empanada.

The Best Seat in the House Is... It Depends
Post-work: you’ll want to sit amongst the warm wood and the stone bull statues at the bar. Pisco sours or oak-barrel-aged rum should be the play. Date night: it’ll be the toffee-colored banquette for you. Comfy, we know.

Skirt Steaks Are Forever
They’re doing that whole rodizio thing here. You know, where they bring the skewers of steak, lamb chop and rotisserie chicken over to your table. Then, they keep slicing it till you say when. Should be a good way to warm up for next Thursday.

Don’t Forget to Scale Machu Picchu
Yes, that’s the name of their house specialty cocktail. It’s pisco, St-Germain and a touch of fresh jalapeño. Pairs wonderfully with a plate of unlimited meat.
