It’s time to overreact.

RGIII is a Hall of Fame shoo-in. The Nats are marching toward postseason immortality.

Yes, your cup runneth over with sporting success. Also: with wings and beer.

Because the Uptown Tap House, in all its game-watching glory, kicks off its soft-opening events tomorrow in the former Ireland’s Four Fields space in Cleveland Park.

Let’s ruminate on the name for a minute. Surely you remember the “Uptown Girl” video, where a grease-monkey Billy Joel sings to Christie Brinkley. Don’t let the brand-new wood paneling and marble bar fool you—this is more his kind of place than hers, with 20 HDTVs, 40-plus beers and all-you-can-eat wings for Monday Night Football.

Sure, you could grab a table in the window or a church-pew bench on the front patio and treat yourself to a bone-in rib eye or some crab cakes.

But mostly, this is where you’ll bring a group for happy hour, which in another month will have a nice tendency to segue into a playoff game. Then, you can sample Harpoon UFO, Devils Backbone Oktoberfest and five sliders, like bourbon BBQ pork and roast beef.

And as the home team gets ready to close things out, you’ll saunter over to the raw bar to scope out the oysters and littlenecks you’ll get for half price until close.

Your decision is not subject to a booth review.
