Shepherd’s Pie and Meat Loaf in Glover Park

None 3 Photos Mayfair & Pine
This summer, you’ve been beset on all sides by rooftops, patios, terraces and all other manner of outdoor venues for your merriment.

Not that you don’t love it. But whatever your reason (thunderstorms, fear of sunburn, fear of helicopters), you may want to head indoors from time to time. To someplace cozy, dark... protected.

Yup, someplace British-inspired should do. Like Mayfair & Pine, opening next Friday in Glover Park.

All brick and wood with London street art on the walls, this is the kind of place where you can settle in for a long session of ales, meatloaf sandwiches and shepherd’s pie—perhaps in front of the British Open, which just happens to start next week.

You’ll lead your group to the tables in the front windows (or the long wood bar, if you’re feeling a little more... clandestine) and set upon the housemade biscuits and brioche while you order up beers like Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale and wines from an all-American list (including some from Texas and Michigan).

From there, it’s on to black cod fish and chips, meat loaf sandwiches smothered in gravy and savory pies.

You’ll find a dining room and bar upstairs, too, which for now will be used for overflow—until you rent the whole thing out for your next private event.

Your War of 1812 reenactment after-party, for instance.
