The Weekender
This Weekend: Dance Parties and Brunch in a Bank
The weekend cuts loose like a deuce, another runner in the night.
Thursday
Falafel Slathered in Belly Fire Sauce
The phrase “off-menu” makes your mouth water. The name “Belly Shack” has the same effect. So we figured we should tell you Bill Kim (yep, the Belly Shack guy) is cooking up off-menu falafel all month at Falafill. It’s for charity, but when giardiniera and crispy shallots are involved, you don’t need an excuse.
You Can’t Get These Suits Anywhere Else
You could use a new suit. And your friends at Haberdash want to help—by being the only store in the world where you can get one from the Italian brand LBM. They’re also throwing in some drinks and 100 bucks off to sweeten the deal. Your kind of sweetener.
Saturday
A Hollywood-Style Dance Party
Your dance moves have inspired more than a few cinematic masterpieces. (Let’s just say the Footloose remake was partially based on your life.) Your next chance to combine Hollywood and the worm: this weekend at Sub 51, when LA-based DJ Spider will be spinning. Consider it a reunion of sorts.
Sunday
Never-Ending Mimosas in Wicker Park
For some reason, you like taking your meals within sight of your safe-deposit box. Related: the Bedford (yeah, the place with the old bank vault) is debuting a new brunch with the option of a mimosa you’ll never see the bottom of. Sadly, the deposit boxes don’t work that way.
Monday
Dueling Bartenders at Quay
It’s come to this: cocktailers citywide are staging an epic battle royale to see who can make the best Manhattan. Chances of applewood bacon and flaming orange peel garnishes: strong to very strong.
