This week we’re spiking your next PB&J with some bourbon (or tequila, or champagne), courtesy of the artisanal jam makers/boozehounds at the Jam Stand. And we took the liberty of booking you a posh room and dinner for two at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Napa Valley. We know you too well.
Things to do for August 18, 2011
Beer Ice Cream Floats, Body Painting and Suits
It’s better to have weekended and lost than never to have weekended at all.
Ice Cream Floats, Now with More Beer
A wise man once said: “It’s hot, so you should drink beer ice cream floats.” Sage advice, indeed. And turns out, Ray’s on the River just rolled out three new limited-edition beer floats—think vanilla Guinness with Frangelico and amaretto, or Woodchuck cider with vanilla and caramel. Thanks, wise man.
24-Hour Chicken Sausage. It Exists Now.
Fact: it’s best to go out and do things on the weekends. Sometimes that involves taking drink. Sometimes that involves 5am mechanical bull bocce tournaments (it’s where you play bocce on mechanical bulls). But it should always involve chicken sausage. Convenient, because Delia’s is now open 24 hours on the weekends.
Cacao Goes for a Chocolaty Hat Trick
Before you know it, chocolate season will be smacking you square in the face. We don’t even know what that means. Still, it’s probably best if you know that Cacao (that place with the best chocolate in recorded history) is opening a new outpost Saturday in Virginia Highland. Seriously, though, chocolate season. Be ready.
The human body was invented for two purposes: 1) Allowing you to do things. 2) Being painted on. This Monday, we explore the latter. Because that’s when Bodies as a Work of Art hits Tongue & Groove, and various living canvases hit the stage in various forms of undress. And paint.
Suits + Cigars + Cocktails = This
There’s no reason to have to choose between cocktails, cigars and custom suiting. None. Whiskey Blue is on your level. This Wednesday, the gents from Proper Suit will be on hand for your haberdashing needs, gratis cigars will be passed and Between the Sheets cocktails (brandy, rum...) will flow. And provide innuendo.
