Chocolate Reign
Scotch-Laced Truffles and Chocolate Salami

Well, it’s over.

You left it all on the prix fixe force-feeding, teddy bear–toting field.

And that’s pretty much that.

But now that every gesture of spontaneous chivalry isn’t being overshadowed by that thunder-stealing cliché-athon cleverly disguised as a holiday, we thought it might be safe to once again resume talks of a chocolaty nature.

Yes, the chocolate moratorium has been lifted early this year...

And it starts with Cacao Buckhead, your secret bean-to-bar weapon for scotch-laced truffles, aphrodisiac sipping chocolates and, of course, chocolate salami, soft-opening Monday.

This is the sister spot to the endlessly lauded Inman Park mother ship, so you may already be familiar with the type of artisanal chocolate glory you’re in for here—only this time, they want you to sit down and stay awhile. As you make your way off Peachtree and through the glass doors, you’ll find yourself surrounded by white marble, dangling chandeliers and polished brass. Take it in. Grab some Cocoa Nib Peanut Brittle and a Mint Julep Truffle... then, head to the back.

That’s where you’ll find Kristen feverishly plying her trade in the chocolate lab. And if the curtain happens to be open (sometimes she likes to ply in private) you’ll be able to bear witness as she churns out oddities like handmade cinnamon marshmallows and dark chocolate laced with Aztec spices.

And if you’re into it, that’s also where she’ll soon be teaching classes about the history and overall science behind the chocolate-making process.

There’s no escaping science.
