Some like it hot. You like it hottest in the world. Luckily, we’ve managed to get our hands on the first batch of salsa made from the hottest pepper known to man. And we’re bringing the goods to your door for 50% off the normal rate. Your taste buds have been warned.
Things to do for March 03, 2011
A Champagne Buffet, Hog Dinners and Bourbon
The weekend is holding on to that hour one more week.
We’re enjoying the custom of extending celebrations for a month instead of just one day. Case in point: Luella’s sixth-anniversary deal, where 10 wines are $4 by the glass, five days a week, for the entire month of March. It’s a lot of numbers, so just focus on the wine.
Burgers, Bourbon and Beer
A burger ground in-house with short ribs, skirt steak and chuck, topped with bourbon-glazed onions and fries, is hard to pass up. Adding a pint of Lagunitas IPA and a long shot of Buffalo Trace bourbon, all for $25, makes it hard to pass up every night.
Build-Your-Own Champagne Cocktail Bar
Brunch buffets can be dangerous affairs, especially when they’re generously stocked to equip you for building your own champagne cocktail. Make that bottomless cocktails—and put two kinds of bubbly and all sorts of juices and extras (berries, lemon peels, bitters, cassis, sugar cubes...) to good use.
Just think: pork in every form imaginable—prosciutto, meatballs, offal, chops, smoked, aged, braised... the list goes on. Since the entire menu is à la carte, you can mix and match. The only problem is you have to fit it all in three dinners.
In a wise move, the guys at The Common seized the chance to relocate two doors down from Four Barrel. Understandably, they’re ditching the coffee component and will focus on procuring more up-and-coming, all-American labels. Of course, they’ll pour the hard stuff when the opportunity arises—like opening day.
