Things to do for December 16, 2010
Spicy Wings, Boozy Santas and Celtics Tickets
The weekend is going scarf.
Watching the B’s and the C’s at JR’s
Bruins tickets. Celtics tickets. Signed Sox memorabilia. Miscellaneous swag. It’s all being given away tonight at Jerry Remy’s. And if you’re asking yourself, “Will there be live cornhole games set up?” the answer is a very happy “yes.”
A Jack Wills Shopping Night
Holiday shopping: it’s a pain. Here to make it a little less so: Jack Wills, which for one night is transforming its store into a man-cave. Think: sports up on the TVs, gratis English beer and an all-female staff. They’ll even wrap your purchases. In the unlikely event they’re for other people.
New Wings from an Old Friend
When Privus closed, Allstonians were robbed of a great Korean wing joint. But good news, Allston: the Privus owners bring you a Bon Chon shop, which means all your spicy and soy garlic fried chicken combos are back. Yes, they still have a sushi bar.
A good bar crawl: pounding your way through Central Square, Harvard Square and Davis Square in a multi-bar, multi-neighborhood, flask-toting booze extravaganza. A great bar crawl: the same thing, with hundreds of revelers dressed in Santa outfits. It’s impossible not to be jolly in this situation.
Boston is a city of tradition this time of year. No, we’re not talking caroling through the North End. We’re talking about the semi-raunchy burlesque version of The Nutcracker that is performed every year under the uber-classy Slutcracker moniker. You love the ballet.
