This week, Perks is bringing you exclusive VIP admission to a rooftop cabana party at Splash Ultra Lounge. You’ll also get half off your next Jeremy Argyle shirt, cut with just enough tail to be tucked, but not so much that you can’t wear the shirt untucked. It’s like the Golden Mean of shirting.
Things to do for July 08, 2010
Reggae, Free Beer and All-You-Can-Eat BBQ
The weekend is still in a Fourth of July spirit.
If you haven’t noticed, we’re smack dab in the middle of summer. So if you head to Uniform tonight, you can land 25% off all summer threads from the likes of Cheap Monday and Life After Denim while cooling off with gratis beers from Victory Brewing Company. And yes, they have air-conditioning.
Some time ago, a great battle went down in a French prison. The upshot for you is a massive street fair featuring all kinds of French food (plus beer and wine) from local restos like the Beehive, Petit Robert Bistro and Sel de la Terre. There’ll also be live jazz and Haitian music outside the French Cultural Center. Although not at the same time.
You know what they say about champagne: good in moderation, but better in the form of a 15-champagne tasting over three hours at a killer new wine bodega. On Saturday, Urban Grape will have gratis pours for you of everything from prosecco to cava, and even some variations on Brut. Because no Saturday activity is complete without a little Brut.
If last weekend left you thirsting for more all-day partying, you’ll want to take part in the monstrous, shenanigan-heavy, 26-bar pub crawl getting under way at 10:30am Saturday at the House of Blues. It’ll extend through the afternoon, night and Sunday morning, and there’ll be gratis buffets at three different bars, as well as free bowling and billiards. Pacing will be key here.
