A few hours from now, you could be sitting at Angelique's handsome marble bar sipping $3 Stella drafts (or Basses or Guinnesses) and working your way through $6 plates of Grilled Spanish Sausage with Figs, Belgian fries and fried calamari. Bonus: you can do it all over again tomorrow.
Things to do for May 20, 2010
$3 Beers, a Futuristic Gym, and Sex and the City
The weekend is sultry.
Your downtown lunch options just got a lot tastier thanks to Chef Gerdy Rodríguez's new executive lunch menu. About $15 gets you a glass of wine, an organic salad and a rotating lineup of entrées like Braised Beef Cannelloni and Confit Chicken. And Friday's main is Roasted Suckling Pig with Hazelnut Butter.
Coconut Grove's swankiest outdoor restaurant recently introduced this Miami Spice-like menu, giving you an excuse to feast poolside while taking in views of the bay. You get a welcome Pisco Sour cocktail and three courses including grilled beef skewers, Braised Pork in Cilantro Sauce and coconut layer cake.
The Sex and the City 2 After-Party
You have two options when it comes to Sex and the City 2: avoid the Cosmo-sipping, Carrie Bradshaw-obsessed crowds entirely (and ultimately fail), or delve right into the stiletto madness. If you choose the latter, Mokai will be hosting a post-screening after-party with plenty of females in attendance. With any luck, they're Samanthas.
Opening this summer atop Purdy Lounge, Symbio promises to reinvent the way you work out. We're not totally sure how they plan to do that, but we're excited to hear there'll be gratis snacks from Barton G—plus free wine and protein shakes—at their open-gym sneak peek, going on this Wednesday.
