You know a barbecue cook-off is legit when it's sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. There's also a rib eating contest, so show up hungry and bring a spare shirt.
Things to do for April 12, 2007
The Weekend Starts Here
Get the taxes done, then have a very unaccountable weekend.
Ray Romano, Sarah Silverman, George Lopez and others perform to benefit the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation. You'll laugh hysterically for a good cause.
Send your girlfriend to learn the mystical secrets of pole dancing. Oh, and in an unrelated matter, it's probably time to install that extra support beam in the bedroom.
Get the squad back together for the 27th Annual 1983 Burt Reynolds Dodgeball Open. All players must sport a mustache, though you can buy one at the event. (For your sake, we're hoping you'll have to buy one.)
Blue Velvet's outdoor lounge launches with fresh cocktails (Green Tea Martinis, Hemingway Daiquiris), a new lounge menu (Monte Cristo Sandwiches, Indian Spiced Lamb Skewers) and fire pits. You can also take a dip in the pool. Could be the perfect spot to unwind after a long weekend of pole dance critiquing.
