GET THE BREAD OUT

A Whole Festival Full of Baguettes

Here’s a thing where five bakeries dole out samples of their finest bread to see who makes the best baguette in Miami. While judges deliberate, you’ll be eating your way through the contestants’ offerings and pairing them with gratis wine, cheese and charcuterie. You win.

PURPLE HAZE

Nu Deco Does Prince

Take a symphony, put them in a cool Wynwood warehouse, give them a bunch of Prince songs and voilà—Nu Deco Ensemble’s season finale at the Light Box. You haven’t lived until you’ve heard a violinist shred on “When Doves Cry.” Probably.

Here’s a New Place With Soul Food

Shrimp and grits. Jerk chicken pasta. Wings. If such soul food delights sound good to you, Chef Dee (yes, the one from DJ Khaled’s Snapchat) is dishing them out at her first restaurant in the Little River neighborhood. It’s called Empty Plates, but no pressure or anything.

GRAND GESTURE

Little Havana’s Newest Bar Has a Party for You

Meet Nancy. She’s a bar on Calle Ocho modeled after a Revolutionary War ship. Celebrate her grand opening with Spam Allstars and drinks like the Smile You Son of a Bitch, which pays homage to Jaws with tequila, plum and passion fruit. And a decidedly above-average name.

Apr 15, 5pm (open bar 7-9pm), no cover, Nancy, 2007 SW 8th St, 305-397-8971

OVER EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING

Easter Brunch Goes Full Alice in Wonderland at Nikki Beach

On Easter morning, wake up, head to Nikki Beach’s Alice in Wonderland mad tea party brunch, sit at a Queen of Hearts–themed table, drink from a giant teacup, eat omelets and waffles from the brunch buffet, scoop up eggs from the adult egg hunt and sip your boozy prize. Yeah, do that.

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
