HEY, SUGAR

Bring a Date. Make Some Candy. Should Be Fun.

Spun Candy Miami is now open in Midtown. It’s the UK-based confectioner’s first stateside shop, and they teach master classes on how to make your own candy there. It’s also pretty close to Valentine’s Day. We’ll just leave those words right up there for future reference.

O Cinema Throws E.T. a Birthday Screening. Beer Is Involved.

Alien life forms. They grow up so fast. Take E.T., for instance, who turns 35 this year. O Cinema is showing the flick in Wynwood for nostalgia purposes, but also for beer-from-the-cash-bar purposes. Both are pretty good purposes.

Friday
Here’s a New Poke Place to Act Surprised About
SUPER BOWLS

Here’s a New Poke Place to Act Surprised About

When poke bowls and crispy chicken vaca frita buns happen, we all win. When tempura fries get dipped in Kona beer batter and feta-tofu dressing, we all win. When the guy from Makoto and Nobu Lana’i brings those things to Coral Gables, it’s called PokéBao. Sorry for breaking the theme there.

Saturday
Bands. Lots of Them. By the Beach.
SOUND OFF

Bands. Lots of Them. By the Beach.

Take a beachfront stage and acts like Hot Chip and Ghostface Killah, add in vendors like Coyo Taco and Gramps, and you’ve got... a lot to process at the first-ever FM Festival. We’ll leave you to all that processing now.

Sunday
Food of the Italian and Comforting Sort in Wynwood
JACK TALK

Food of the Italian and Comforting Sort in Wynwood

Here, let Nonna’s homemade meatballs at this new Italian comfort food haven called Jack’s make it all better. The rigatoni with Sunday gravy should also help. Oh, and the homemade meat loaf, too. This scenario works best if you pretend something’s wrong.

Ginger Harris

On a typical Wednesday, Ginger Harris is likely seeking reposado tequila, squeezing her way to the front of a concert or jumping on the back of an Indian motorcycle. That’s just Wednesdays, though.
