It’s a simple and minimalist watch. It looks good with a suit or a T-shirt. It’s adorned with a soft leather strap. It was designed by a Taiwan-based studio. It’s 24-sided. It’ll be hard to pronounce “icosikaitetragon”—the name for a 24-sided polygon—at first, but you’ll get used to it.

Keith Haring painted on a lot of things. Including cars. The visual evidence will be presented at The Petersen this weekend, when it opens its retrospective on the artist’s work on automobiles. Oh, and they’re having an opening party Thursday night. Consider this your invite.

cubby serving numerous variations on the gin and tonic from barman Vincenzo Marianella.

Tom George. Sounds like the one guy you hope won’t make it to your holiday party. But in fact, it’s just a new Italian restaurant in Downtown that’s really eager to prepare you filet mignon Milanese and smoked duck prosciutto pizza. Hopefully they can tamp down the enthusiasm until you arrive.
Family. Friends. Those are the types who could be coming for the holidays. And Plaza la Reina is a perfect new place to put them, with red adobe roofs and a general Santa Barbara vibe. Only just a little closer to your place than that.
