Things to do for October 26, 2016
Bay Skate’s Back. It Brought a Mezcal Bar This Time.
A Bar-Forward Skating Rink, Smoked-Duck Benedicts and Racing Exotic Cars in CostumeBy Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
It’s the Great Weekend, Charlie Brown
You, however long ago: Wearing flannel. Listening to Oasis on repeat. Finding unironic
meaning in the lyrics of “Wonderwall.”
You, tonight: Possibly wearing flannel. Watching the premiere screening of Oasis: Supersonic at O Cinema. Finding unironic meaning in your glass of beer.
Same thing, really.
Lamborghinis and Star Wars. Sounds Like a Halloween.
Halloween goes one of two ways this year:
1) Prestige Imports has a Lamborghini waiting for you. Take a few laps at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, then head to a masquerade party afterward.
2) Meanwhile, Rec Room’s having a late-night Star Wars–themed party. Expect lightsabers. Also, drinks.
There might be other ways, but still.
A Skating Rink with a Thing for Mezcal
True: Bay Skate is back at Bayfront Park.
False: Your date isn’t into this type of thing.
True: There’s a mezcal bar this year. Beer and food trucks, too.
False: Hitting the mezcal bar first is a great idea.
Tux Up. Hemingway’s Sister Ship Awaits.
Oh, hi, gala season. It’s been, what, a year? Sounds about right. Anyway, here comes the Art of Sail with all of the requisites: full bar. Live music. Designs from Jens Werner of Adidas Y-3. And a boat show that includes a sister ship to Hemingway’s. Classic gala night.
Sweet Liberty Has Benedicts for You
Sweet Liberty is doing brunch now, and they’d like nothing more than to ply you with smoked-duck benedicts and stuffed french toast and things. But they’ve also got chamomile margaritas, should you find all of this somewhat overwhelming. Stay strong out there.
