These flowers were grown on the side of a volcano. Some kind gentlemen hiked up and cut them so I could have a dozen delivered to you fresh in time for Mother’s Day. I mean, volcano flowers. What a world.
... is a thing you might write in your card.
Things to do for April 20, 2016
On-Demand Joints, Over 150 Ciders and a Bunch of Boats
Pass the weekend on the left-hand side.
Oh, Just a Box Full of Joints
April 20. Also known as 420. Also known as a good day to realize that Potbox, that subscription marijuana delivery service, has launched Joint Box. It’s where they deliver pre-rolled joints to your door and then let you decide what to do from there. Just like we’re about to do...
Beers and Boats and Boats and Beers
Good things: beers from local breweries like 21st Amendment, Lagunitas and Speakeasy. Better things: history that includes tall-masted ships like the Liberty and submarines like the Pampanito. Best things: a beer festival on Pier 45 among said boats, featuring said beers. Plus food trucks. Carry on.
Here’s a Big Goorin Bros. Sale. It’s for Your Head.
Goorin Bros.: We’re having a pretty huge sale. A lot of our hats are up to 40% off right
You: I fancy those.
Goorin Bros.: Good, because a lot of our hats are up to 40% off right now.
You: Great, now we’re just going in circles.
It’ll Have Over 150 Ciders
On Saturday, over 150 cider makers will descend upon the Presidio to bestow their wares upon you. Show up with a group/a date/whoever and sample your way through the grounds, stopping only to consume some barbecue and maybe smile up at the sky or something. Time permitting, of course.
Shop for Mother’s Day. Drink Drinks. Not Bad.
“I wonder if my mom would like a locally made tote or a salvaged-wood cutting board for Mother’s Day.” It’s okay if that didn’t cross your mind today. But it will on Sunday, because Blackbird is hosting a market featuring a bunch of things like that. It’ll also feature drinks, so that’s remarkably helpful.
