Sometimes you want to drink nice French wines and get to know someone better.

Sometimes you want to drink nice French wines and get to know some Parisian skateboards, headphones and shirts better.

Sometimes you can... go ahead and do both at Garçons de Café, a new Gallic wine bar stocked with attractive things from the City of Lights, now open in Downtown. Here’s the slideshow and the menu.

It’s a classic French wine bar hitting all its marks. Antique furniture. Marble bar below a steeple of rotating, small-production wines. Plates of pancetta-wrapped duck rillettes and brie sliding in beside the Burgundy flights you and your date are enjoying. Hey, there’s even a Mona Lisa.

Somewhere between your pinot with a Loire Valley cab franc back, you’ll investigate all the beautiful handmade French things that surround you. Perhaps they can interest you in...

—A light-blue chambray button-down made in Paris.

—A skateboard carved from French Alps oak.

—Ateliers Auguste’s laptop bag forged from canvas and camel leather.

—Minimalist headphones with lambskin leather.

—An attractively understated polished-steel wristwatch from Bordeaux’s Mona.

—More wine.

That last one probably makes the most sense.
