Things to do for July 09, 2015
Pappy, Anthony Bourdain and a Bunch of Gelato
For whom the weekend tolls.
Tonight, Double Zero is throwing you a Gelato Social, where you’ll partake in gratis tastes of new off-menu flavors like coconut taro and Nutella. That’s the gelato part. Then you’ll play bocce and laugh with your fellow gelato eaters. That’s the social part. Together, they make a Gelato Soc... goodbye.
Offerman and Bourdain Will See You Now
Your recommended weekend dose of speaking engagements goes like this:
Nick Offerman: He’ll be at SCADshow tonight for a Q&A and book signing. Mustaches will ensue.
Anthony Bourdain: And on Saturday, this guy’s stopping by the Fox to talk about life, food and travel. It’s not a musical.
Wear These. Look Nice. Retain Dollars.
A wise person once said, “When Guffey’s hands you lemons made of lightweight cotton shirts, linen sport coats and handmade Italian shoes, take up to 70% off and make lemonade.” It’s a weird way to get some lemonade, but it works.
An App for Monitoring Food Truck Lines
The Atlanta Street Food Festival isn’t new, but it’s great. So here we are, reminding you that it’s happening again. The kicker: their festival app is way better this year, because now you can view every menu and get updates on which lines are the shortest. Use this power for good.
You Probably Don’t Like Pappy, But...
South City Kitchen saved their yearly payload of Pappy so you could enjoy it in convenient flight form. It’s their 15-, 20- and 23-year-old offerings, and they’ll pour until it’s gone. It starts at lunch on Monday, so you know... punctuality.
