What was the best part of your flying experience?
A) The attentive service.
B) The cozy seating arrangement.
C) The lack of in-flight Zac Efron movie.
D) The cocktails served in suitcases.
Yes, D does seem to be a popular answer.
Thank you for debauching at Now Boarding, an intimate new cocktail lounge for live music, mid-century ambience and a subtle airplane motif, with an estimated arrival of Friday. (See the slideshow here.)
Pretty sexy spread of Catch Me if You Can–ness going on in this dusky, glowing lair. Booths inspired by first-class seats, tray tables permanently in their full downright position. Vintage stewardess photos bookending a bar full of members’ bottle lockers. Massive map of flight paths. But... subtle, kind of.
This’ll be a great place to land for a little live jazz or DJ’d Motown after your next Laurel Hardware dinner date. Order a DB Cooper (tequila, watermelon, jalapeño) or a combo of Cali beer and a shot served in a mini bottle. Or you can share a large cocktail served inside a handmade wooden suitcase.
That... probably wouldn’t make it through security.
