A Fantastically Sexy Party at Cavalli
We have a lot to thank Italy for. Wine. Pasta. Sophia Loren. And tonight, those fashionable Italians at Cavalli are rounding up some of their country’s finest for you at their Bellissima party. There’ll be passed antipasti, mini desserts, models and Vespas. Yes, thank you, Italy.
Miami Spice Is Here. You May Proceed.
Superlatives: Miami Spice Edition
Most improved: Azul. It recently got a complete refresh, including the addition of steak-and-eggs tartare. Nice.
Most likely to go all night: 15th & Vine. With a 28-item menu featuring summer shandy oysters. Go slow.
Least likely to “never change”: Essensia. There’s a different menu every two weeks. Keeps things interesting.
Karaoke and Beer. Obviously.
Karaoke and $3 beer. That’s a combustible mix. But Balans doesn’t care. Because that’s what they’re doing on Friday. But they’re also offering $5 plates of tuna tartare and ribs. So maybe they care a little.
The One About the Donut Waffles
Let’s cut to the chase: Batch’s new Sunday brunch has something called Homer’s Doh’nut Waffles. It’s basically waffles made with donut batter, cinnamon sugar and glaze. Now, you’ll also find the typical brunch accoutrements: french toast, a cornbread benedict and bottomless mimosas and Bellinis. But come on. Donut waffles.
