Things to do for June 12, 2014
Hot Dogs from King of Pops, 80% Off at Sid Mashburn, and Yeah, You’re Sold
The weekend would really like to see the Korea Republic do something this year.
Well, This Is Huge
Sid Mashburn’s moving his inventory into a new warehouse. What this means for you: sale. Big one. We’re talking up to 80% off of samples and one-offs and things. Jeans. Ties. Espadrilles. Might want to camp out for this one. First person to make s’mores on Howell Mill Road wins.
This Involves a DJ on a Bike
7:04pm: Check in for the Atlanta Moon Ride at Park Tavern. Warm up with some calf
10pm: Bike through neighborhoods like Midtown and VaHi. Try to keep pace with the rolling DJ.
11:19pm: Get back. Cool down with more beer.
1:37am: Seems like a good stopping point.
You Might Find a Dad’s Day Gift Here
Reminder #1: Father’s Day is Sunday. Reminder #2: you should get him something. Suggestion #1: hit Root City Market’s summer pop-up and grab things like pocketknives from Oakleaf & Acorn and marshmallow sandwiches from Malvi. Suggestion #2: don’t get your dad marshmallow sandwiches for Father’s Day.
England vs. Italy. You vs. Block Party.
We’ll go out on a limb and say you might watch some soccer on Saturday. And that you might prefer to do it at Big Sky’s block party with sriracha wings, vodka and six bands like the Dirty Guv’nahs and Stokeswood playing all day. Although, correct us if we’re wrong.
King of Pops Gets into the Hot Dog Game
King of Pops just realized that popsicles don’t constitute a full meal. Dammit. The bright side: they just started slinging them alongside Spotted Trotter hot dogs and grilled pork sausages for a couple hours every Monday. The best bright sides usually involve pork sausage.
