Things to do for April 17, 2014
A Tableside Crepe Cart, Lasers and a Tunnel Party
Sleep with one weekend open.
A Party in and Around a Tunnel. Hmm.
Problem: The tunnel between the O4W and Cabbagetown is pretty terrible-looking.
Solution: A New York artist is going to paint it over the next 10 days. And there’ll be a bunch of events, like a block party and light projections and farmers’ markets. The usual tunnel-party stuff.
Something New and Loud Is Happening
You already know that the SweetWater 420 Fest is happening this weekend. But this part may have gotten by you: there’ll be an EDM stage for the first time ever. DJs. Lasers. Bongos. All of it. Maybe not bongos.
A Tableside Crepe Cart. That’s Nice.
When you’re enjoying Easter brunch at BLT on Sunday, don’t be alarmed when someone wheels a giant cart up to your table. They just want to make you some tableside crepes with whipped cream, berries and Nutella. See, now that’s not so scary.
Your Sunday Brunch Plans Go Thusly
Even though Saltyard has always been perfectly capable of making things like ham-and-cheese-stuffed french toast and chipotle Bloody Marys with candied bacon, they’ve never done a brunch before this Sunday. But they’re going to start doing that now. Good thing those sentences had happy endings.
You’re Looking for a Big Orange Truck...
When you get hungry on Monday, head to 6th and Peachtree in Midtown. You’ll find a brand-new orange truck with cartoon kitchen supplies printed on it. Ignore all that and just ask for some Red Hare–braised pork shank and 10-bean-and-turkey chili. Then don’t ignore all that.
