Watching the Masters in a sports bar tomorrow is an option, sure. But so is watching the Masters at Onward Reserve with gratis beer, gratis barbecue and a pop-up from the Chubbies guys. They make shorts. You remember shorts.
King + Duke’s New Brunch Is... Ambitious
This Sunday, something monumental is happening at King + Duke. Not only are they doing brunch (think Dutch baby pancakes) for the first time ever. Not only are they unleashing a Bloody Buck with a venison-broth ice cube and housemade jerky. Not only... actually, those are some pretty big onlys.
The Return of a Lost Brunch
Speaking of brunches, a casual Mexican joint in Decatur just reinstituted an entire brunch menu from the owner’s old restaurant, Crescent Moon (it closed in ’08). On this menu: Mezcal Bloody Marys and Huevos de Diego with green-chili grits. Green-chili grits always deserve a second chance.
Off-the-Grid Spiked Shakes and Burgers
If you’re near Vinings on Tuesday, know this: a new Texas-based spot called Grub Burger Bar is about to open in those parts. It’ll have a patio where you can drink bourbon-and-caramel shakes and eat burgers slathered in Dr Pepper barbecue sauce. Coke’s not going to like that.
