Things to do for March 06, 2014
Models. Grilled Cheese. Champagne. Better Get in Here.
The secret password is “weekend.”
14 Days to Spring = New Custard Spot
Back in 2012, a local frozen-custard truck was born. Now, that local frozen-custard truck is a walk-up window on the Westside. Which will be great when you need stationary blueberry cobbler or s’mores custard this spring. Or this today.
New Brookhaven Lunch Alert
Ever since Kaleidoscope opened, it didn’t think you needed to eat lunch there. But you did. Which is why you’ll be happy to hear that they’re now giving you afternoon access to things like The Schnitzelwich and fries with duck-fat bacon mayo. And that’s called “effectively working out your differences.”
West Egg Is Busting Out the Yahtzee
West Egg just started doing dinner specials. This is a wonderful development. Take Thursdays, for example. It’s Grilled Cheese & Games night. That’s where they make grilled cheeses and give you games like Yahtzee and chess to play. Someone give the naming-things guy a raise.
Endless Oysters. Endless Beer. Yay.
Parish doesn’t care that it’s not technically spring yet. Hence their annual Spring Thing this Saturday. You know the drill. Unlimited Abita. Unlimited oysters. Whole pig, slaw and ice cream sandwiches from Proof & Provision vet Zeb Stevenson. Well, now you know the drill, anyway.
Models and Champagne at the Goat Farm
The Dinner Party Atlanta guys like to do stuff. Exhibit A: this huge production at the Goat Farm with a fashion show and a Coco Chanel–inspired play. And if you go the VIP route: dinner and champagne topped with shaved pearl foam. So... stuff that’s better than most other stuff.
