Things to do for September 05, 2013
Beer, Samba Dancers and Uncle Luke
The weekend dances like no one’s watching.
Nothing like kicking off football season with some good ol’ American favorites. Food trucks: check. Football-game watching: check. Uncle Luke hosting the whole affair at Gramps with $5 pours of his namesake rum: double check. Shaking what your momma gave you: optional.
Those tireless Dolphins cheerleaders. Selflessly imparting pep for your entertainment during those grueling games. Well, they’re releasing their 2014 calendar tonight with a party and fashion show at LIV. Do the girls a solid and head out there for support. Take one for the team.
Big Saturday. Huge rivalry. But the real competition’s between Jamie DeRosa (Tongue & Cheek) and Ralph Pagano (Alba) during their first tailgate party at Sun Life Stadium. There’ll be a DJ spinning. Beer from Gravity Brewlab. And burgers with a side of smack talk.
Samba Dancers. Bubbly. This.
So work prevented you from making your usual trip to Brazil for its Independence Day. Sorry about that. But you can console yourself at Hyde Beach, where they’re pouring flutes of champagne and turning out sequined Brazilian dancers by the pool. Great time to start learning Portuguese.
A Barbecue Bounty Awaits...
The chefs behind Bulldog Barbecue and Grove Isle are teaming up for a full-on Latin cookout on Monday. Which... nice. They’ll be filling your plate with brisket vaca frita and roasted pig shoulder, loin, belly and ribs. Brace yourself for the pork hangover.
