Things to do for August 22, 2013
Laser Tag, Beer Summer Camp, and Chicken and Waffles
Rain, rain, go aweekend.
Now This... This Is a Chef’s Counter
King + Duke. Not a bad date spot, really. And that’s especially true now that they’ve built a chef’s counter directly in front of the 24-foot open hearth. They’ll only have two seatings nightly (for two parties of two), so maybe book it now. And maybe ignore the word “maybe.”
You Need Chicken and Waffles. Hence...
Gladys Knight is the greatest. Related: she just quietly opened a new outpost in southwest Atlanta. And you need to investigate. If not for the Midnight Train (four fried jumbo chicken wings and a waffle), then for the... no, that’s why.
A Wakesurf Competition with Laser Tag
Imagine a wakesurfing competition. Now imagine it’s happening at Callaway Gardens. You’re there. Drinking a beer and watching the surfers. Playing laser tag and a game of giant chess. Trying to figure out why you’re playing laser tag and a game of giant chess at a wakesurfing competition.
Summer Camp at a Brewery. Basically.
Here’s what you’re doing this Saturday. You’re going to go to SweetWater’s first-ever camp-themed party. It’ll be exactly like you remember summer camp. Inflatable obstacle courses. Free-flowing beer. Build-your-own-s’mores stations. Yeah... that camp didn’t exist. Does now, though. So you should probably go enjoy the sh*t out of it.
Pork and Beer. Nice Little Sunday.
Backyard barbecue this Sunday. Should be a fun one. The sous-chef from Leon’s will be there roasting pork. Some guy will be there playing a guitar. You’ll be there drinking blonde ales from Three Taverns. And No 246 will be there... providing the backyard.
