Things to do for July 19, 2013
Ramen Burgers, a Hidden Beer Bar and You: the Butcher
The weekend gets the worm.
The Ramen Burger. It’s Real Now.
You never know when the chefs at Nombe are going to up and create a pork-belly-and-Wagyu-beef burger with wasabi aioli, shio-koji pickled cucumbers and a bun made out of actual ramen noodles. Wait. This just in: you do know.
A Microscopic Beer Bar in Hayes Valley
There’s a new beer bar in the back of Noir Lounge now. It’s called the Blind Tiger Tap Bar. It’s only got seven seats. And soon, you’ll be sitting in one of them drinking heady pours of Rodenbach’s Grand Cru and Dogfish Head’s Noble Rots. Just letting you know.
Meet Hotel Healdsburg’s New Cocktailery
When you go to wine country, you taste wine. And when you taste wine, you really wish Hotel Healdsburg would revamp that old lobby bar of theirs and turn it into a shiny new cocktail factory with burnt-orange Manhattans and bourbon drinks with limoncello in them. If only.
You know those butchery classes at 4505. Well, this is kind of like those. Only it’s more of an intense apprenticeship. Good intense. As in, Ryan Farr is about to teach you how to deconstruct entire animals and turn them into sausages and stuff. (Or you could just buy some.)
It’s a Sale. It’s a Rare-Beer Sale.
Sing it with us: happy birthday to Abbot’s Cellar. Happy birthday to Abb... all right, enough singing. Let’s get to the part where they raid the Monk’s Kettle cellar and have an aged-beer sale. Stone’s Double Bastard. Alaskan’s Smoked Porter. Rare stuff. You can buy it and drink it. And then you can sing.
