Things to do for July 11, 2013
Rum, Short Rib Quesadillas and Wearing a Captain’s Hat
Ask your doctor if the weekend is right for you.
You know Gramps. Live bands and beer in Wynwood. Well, seems it’s having an identity crisis. Yeah, the place is throwing a yacht party. So indulge them and head over in your finest nautical attire. They’ll thank you with a gratis beer and $3 wieners. Leave no wurst behind.
Salsa Dancing and Rum at the Ritz
Rumbar at the Ritz is rolling out their signature rum. Rare stuff. Only 324 bottles produced. Probably something you should take note of. You can sample it (and buy a bottle) tonight while partaking in some salsa beats from Grupo Nostalgia. Look for things to turn from mild to medium pretty quickly.
DB Bistro Moderne is pulling out the grill tomorrow night for some barbecuing on its terrace. Might want to head out there and do what you do. Mingle. Drink beer. Take down a short rib quesadilla or three. Drink beer.
Records. Sometimes you listen to them. Sometimes you put ’em up on your wall. Depends on your perspective, really. But the latter is what’s happening at the Analog Art show. It’s got 30 artists displaying their vinyl wares. And beer from MIA Brewing. Remember, beer is in the eye of the beholder.
Here’s a hint at what’s in store this Saturday: “sip ’n slide,” bacon-wrapped franks and a hot dog eating contest. Why, yes, this does spell the return of our fair city’s annual celebration of the humble hot dog at Tobacco Road. So go. And wear something stretchy. And maybe mustard-retardant.
