Things to do for June 20, 2013
A Silent Party and a Private Club and a German Camera
And the weekend spins madly on...
Killspencer Comes to Silver Lake
In short: Killspencer is a great spot for you to go get a sleek new bag. The workshop is right there, sewing machines and all, so if you don’t see what you want, they’ll... make you what you want. Secret compartments and all. In less short: never mind, we’ll stick with short.
A Grand German Camera Emporium
Sometimes, just sometimes, you require a camera that is completely separate from a phone. Good thing the German legend Leica has finally opened shop in town—sadly, they went small. Just kidding, it’s an 8,000-square-foot store, gallery and outdoor courtyard. One big photo op, really.
A Totally Silent Dance Party
You might’ve been to one of those wild dance parties that are totally quiet, because the music is pumped in through everyone’s headphones. Well, now you can go to one on the patio at Wilshire restaurant, which is kind of crazy. But apparently it won’t bother the neighbors, so...
All Are Welcome at 41 Ocean
Maybe you never got around to getting a membership at 41 Ocean. And maybe you’d like to know there’s a whole series of summer events happening (screenings, DJs...), and membership isn’t required to attend—just an RSVP. Knowing the rules before you break them and all that.
Hey, It’s the Venice Music Crawl
For one day, five Lincoln Boulevard spots (including Deus ex Machina) are banding together for a day of... lots of music. Like 50 bands, from electro to indie rock, and all on stages that are walkable from each other. Plus Wurstküche sausage, just because. Mmm, Wurstküche.
