Things to do for May 30, 2013
Nachos, Sports Cars and Umami Bloody Marys
All 15 episodes of the weekend are now available on Netflix.
Saturday Brunching. On the Bay.
You know Zuma. Downtown Japanese spot on the bay. They place raw fish on rice. And simmering hot pots on your table. Well, now they’re doing all of that on Saturday for brunch while adding Umami Marys spiked with truffle-dashi vodka to the equation. They’ve got a bunch of geniuses working over there.
A Room Full of Ferraris and Lambos
Italians. Safe to say they’ve got fairly discerning tastes. Suits. Wine. Sophia Loren. Also: some of the finest vehicles to grace our asphalt. Lamborghinis. Ferraris. Ducatis. You’ll find them at the Coral Gables Museum this Saturday, along with some classic Italian food and free vino. Try not to spill on the Diablo.
So the Miami Art Museum is closing its doors before moving to Museum Park later this year. And they’re sending themselves off with a farewell party. You should go. Sparky’s barbecue will be there. And a 17-foot speaker wall blasting DJ-spun tunes. Oh, and art. Yup, art.
Late-Night Dancing and Circus Acts
Sometimes you get the urge to dance. Sometimes you get the urge to go to the circus. And sometimes you get the urge to eat cotton candy at 2am. Whatever the reason is, it’s all happening this Monday at FDR. Maybe drop by. If you get the urge.
Memphis Ribs and Bourbon at the Dutch
Let’s play a game of word association. We say “summer.” And you say... “the long-awaited return of the Dutch’s weekly barbecues with Memphis-style ribs, pulled-pork nachos and bacon Old Fashioneds.” Okay, that’s more than one word, but still, good answer.
