Things to do for April 18, 2013
Pig Roasts, Fruity Pebbles and a Bunch of Old Records
Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here! This is the weekend!
Ladies’ night. There’re plenty of those around. But it’s time someone considered the cocktailing needs of the not-so-fairer sex. Enter: the Biltmore. They’re hosting a “Gentlemen’s Night Out” where you’ll get treated to a four-course meal, a few fingers of scotch and a couple cigars. Women also welcome.
Record Store Day is Saturday. If that’s a “holiday” you observe, you’ll want to head to Sweat Records for the music festival they’re hosting. Scheduled to attend: 34 bands, a few food trucks (GastroPod, Ms. Cheezious) and copious cases of beer. Another good reason to attend: beer.
A Night of Cereal and Snoop Dogg
Saturday is April 20. 4/20. Just saying. Anywho, the Eating House will be serving a prix fixe menu that evening set to the sounds of Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill and such. Included in said menu: candied pork belly pancakes, short rib bagel bites and Fruity Pebbles mousse. Can’t help feeling there’s a theme here...
Endless Pork and Whiskey. Why Not.
The Front Porch Cafe is now doing an all-you-can-eat/drink pork, whiskey and wine thing every third Saturday of the month for $30. In unrelated news, the Front Porch Cafe is now your favorite café with a front porch of all time.
Yup, the annual pork revelry of Cochon 555 is descending upon us once again. This time, expect pig prepped by chefs from Edge, Yardbird and Sugarcane, along with a live cocktail competition between the city’s best bartenders. Winner gets to pour you a Manhattan.
