Things to do for November 29, 2012
Keith Richards and Glowing Cocktails. It’s a Weekend.
There’s no wrong way to have a weekend.
So the Garret is doing this secret DJ party thing tonight. Which essentially means there’ll be a crazy dance scene, a gratis vodka situation and some mystery man on the 1s and 2s. Hope you like surprises (or, you know, complimentary cocktails).
A Bunch of Glowing Cocktails
Hey, here’s something weird. On Friday, you might find yourself drinking at the W. Okay, that’s not the weird part. The thing is, the drinks—they’ll be glowing. Yup, stuff like vodka infused with galangal and a sidecar with bergamot syrup. All on illuminated coasters. Remember, don’t look directly into the light.
A New Poolside Brunch at the Mandarin
Pool-party season: over. Pool-brunching season: just hitting its stride. Ask the Mandarin—they’ve recently upgraded their digs for the occasion with a new elevated deck and a Sunday brunch of champagne and endless seafood. There’s no such thing as too much lobster.
The Stones and the Beatles. Together.
We’re not here to debate whether Jagger or McCartney had the better hair (it was Ringo), but you can judge for yourself next week. There’s an exhibit on Ocean Drive featuring rare pictures taken by their tour manager back in the ’60s. Keith hasn’t aged a day.
Escaping from Basel in a Private Spa
The James Royal Palm’s spa is hosting a private lounge for Basel recharging. The scene: invite-only. The cocktails: flowing. The hand massages: pretty tremendous. And hey, we’ve got a couple of passes to give away if you want to try one. Let us know if you’re interested, and we’ll let you know if you’re in.
