You and Beujolais need no introduction, as you two go way back. So be sure to welcome the 2008 vintage at this tasting and swilling at Nikki Marina, where you'll learn which dishes pair best with the fruit-centric wine. Think of it as speed-dating for your palate.
Things to do for November 20, 2008
Madonna, iPods and Steam
The weekend is recovering from last weekend.
Balans Brickell Now Open
Late-night-brunch and crowd-pleasing-fusion spot Balans has opened an outpost for downtown office refugees in Mary Brickell Village. It's open until 4am on weekends—but the real draws are the glass bathroom stalls that go magically opaque when locked. Luckily, fogging up windows is something you have experience with.
Gifts at Tommy Hilfiger
To get you in the holiday spending mood, Tommy is giving away an iTouch to the first ten customers to spend $500. Plus, the first fifty customers to spend $300 get a Nano, and the first fifty to spend $150 get a Shuffle. Look at it as buying an iPod and getting a free rugby.
Madonna's Directorial Debut
Multi-talented Madge diversifies her portfolio with Filth and Wisdom, her first stint behind the camera. The plot centers on a Ukrainian immigrant who finances his dreams of rock glory by moonlighting as a dominatrix with his two female flatmates. Of course he does.
The "GQ" at Lace Nail Lab
Showing it has a masculinely coiffed side as well, the new Lace bureau in SoFi is taking the polybag off its GQ package, which involves a haircut, manicure, pedicure and borderline-pervy photo shoot with Terry Richardson. (Note: Last one is not true, thankfully.)
