Father’s Day, covered: we’re hooking you up with 30% off Swiss-made timepieces from Tsovet, plus 30% off classic ’70s-style polos from Boast (John McEnroe’s a fan). Finally: a three-pack of Bacon Explosions (bacon-wrapped sausage marvels) for the price of two. These are some powerful Perks.
Things to do for June 01, 2012
A New Winery, a New Donut Shop and the Best Food at Turner Field
Boldly going where no weekend has gone before.
Bacon Donuts in Decatur
Yes, it’s officially pool season/summer/naked time. Coincidentally: a new little donut shop just opened in Decatur. It’s got salted caramel donuts with Spotted Trotter bacon crumbles on top. And brownie ice cream sandwiches. And red velvet donuts. And... about that naked time...
Happy Birthday, D.B.A.
D.B.A.’s age as of today: three. The result of this benchmark: $3 drink specials. They’ll be partying all weekend with help from blues bands, habanero moonshine Bloodys and barbecue (obviously). Speaking of which, they’ve also been doing a bacon happy hour. Three magic words, those.
A Farmers’ Market After Dark
Tonight, Peachtree Road Farmers Market is going to open. The reason: well, a little live bluegrass, a couple of food trucks and a mini Iron Chef competition using market-sourced food. Your job will be to judge. And by proxy, to eat.
A New Vineyard in North Georgia
Cause: a new vineyard just opened. Effect: they’re having a grand-opening party tomorrow. Cause: you heading up to the North Georgia mountains for the festivities (hors d’oeuvres, a country band, gratis tastings). Effect: you getting a lift back from the North Georgia mountains.
Turner Field: Now Crawling with Chefs
The Turner Field luxury suites. Great place to catch a ball game. Also, eat. So Kevin Rathbun (with a bunch of other chefs) is going to host a series of food demos there this season. The meals: themed around whatever visiting team is in town. Now, quickly, someone move the Pirates to Italy.
