A Meat Box, 30 Kinds of Bubbly and Brunch on Polk
The weekend never apologizes.
You’ve already started chain-holiday-partying, so you might as well fold another into the mix. Stop by for bubbly, beer, mini pop-tarts and a chance to finish your holiday shopping. If you donate an article of clothing, you’ll get 20% off clothes or shoes. Yes, we did say mini pop-tarts.
Even a long weekend in Champagne, France, wouldn’t get you access to the 30 kinds of bubbly from growers/producers like Benoît Lahaye and Larmandier-Bernier that you’ll get to try tonight. Still, you can do this and the long weekend.
While it’s been nice scoring gratis beers in the alley by Pac Brewlabs’ garage, we think you’ll want to join in on the celebration of them going legit. Tonight, you can pull up to the bar and toast Patrick and Bryan with a pint of their hoppy black ale known as Squid Ink (note: no squids were inked for this).
French Toast for Brunch in Russian Hill
Your brunch options on this stretch of Polk haven’t changed... Well, let’s just say it’s been a while. So the new Batter Bakery/Square Meals collaboration—with their soju Bloody Marys and Over-Easy Sandwiches with thick-cut bacon—is a welcome addition. Most importantly, it’s just as hangover friendly as the rest.
With turkey—and the leftovers—long gone, we can once again return our attention to lamb shanks, pork bellies, kielbasa and other meaty endeavors. So it’s nice to know that our friendly French butcher Olivier is already on it. We think 20 pounds’ worth should hold you over nicely.
