This week, Perks is letting you commandeer a winery and create your own custom vintage—for half off. Plus, we’re getting you into an exclusive 10-tequila tasting event hosted by Playboy scribe Dan Dunn. And we’re taking 32% off the revolutionary silent alarm clock, Lark Pro. Because you deserve it, that’s why.
Things to do for July 28, 2011
Watching Lingerie Basketball in the Valley
The weekend never feels overdressed.
Just a Little 24-Hour-Long Movie
And you thought Tree of Life was long. Starting tonight at 5pm sharp, LACMA will screen artist Christian Marclay’s 24-hour-long movie called The Clock—it uses clock shots from TV and other movies to show the passage of real time. Don’t feel pressure to stay more than 12 hours.
A Rock Show at the Zoo
If you’re in the mood for some rock, you could head to the Whisky—or to the zoo. Tonight the LA Zoo gates are staying open late for you and a bunch of cover bands who’ll be inside playing old tunes by the Beatles, the Eagles and U2. U2 has always been big with zebras.
Two Words: Lingerie Basketball
Take a deep breath. There’s finally a national league for women who like to combine their two great passions—wearing lingerie and playing basketball. The LA season kicks off Friday night with a doubleheader, and they really need your support... regarding their choice of support.
Happy Hour at Public School 612
Not so long ago, you got out of school, raced home and downed some cookies and milk. These days, you can get out of work, race to Public School 612 and down some $2 short-rib tacos, $4 hot dogs and $10 carafes of wine. You’d consider this progress.
Dominick’s Hosts a Pig Roast
Instead of the usual Saturday brunch on one of WeHo’s best patios, try a pig roast on one of WeHo’s best patios. This week, behind Dominick’s, there’ll be oysters, there’ll be $3 Moretti beers and there’ll be roasted pig bruschetta. You can go traditional brunch on Sunday.
