Endless Mimosas, a Secret Dinner and Brunch in Bed
The weekend will make up for that hour.
The naked version of Critical Mass, this contingency of cyclists pedaling in the buff will happen rain or shine. They’ll do a loop from the Embarcadero to Golden Gate Park—hitting landmarks like Lombard Street along the way—in protest of our dependency on oil. You’ve been warned...
It starts with a cocktail reception (as all good Saturdays do), then a big communal table for a six-course feast (bacon-wrapped pork shoulder is involved) paired with endless wine. You’ll just have to wait for word on the exact locale...
You’ve got your mimosas (bottomless, of course). Crepes, waffles, bacon and eggs... check, check and check. And while you’ll have to get out of bed to come here, they’ll have a bed ready for your brunching pleasure. This just makes sense.
Named after a beach on the Arabian Sea, Juhu Beach Club is popping up in the front section of a liquor store—and will be your lunchtime source for Mumbai street food. Stop in for samosas, chicken curry sandwiches and soon a lamb meatloaf sandwich. More pop-ups should be in liquor stores.
Booze Dinners at Orson
The crew at Orson puts on a monthly cocktail-paired dinner every third Wednesday. This one’s dedicated to everything Barcelona. So expect braised baby octopus, paella with chorizo and a riff on churros y chocolate—with sherry and grappa-infused cocktails and wines to match. Just don’t expect a bullfight.
