Some like it hot. You like it hottest in the world. Luckily, we’ve managed to get our hands on the first batch of salsa made from the hottest pepper known to man. And we’re bringing the goods to your door for 50% off the normal rate. Your taste buds have been warned.
Things to do for March 03, 2011
Samba, Fat Tuesday and Blintzes
The weekend calls shotgun.
Meat Dresses at STK
Tonight, the designer of Lady Gaga’s meat dress (no, it wasn’t a butcher) will be holding a fashion show at STK in collaboration with other designers. You can expect to see rib eyes on models and gratis Chivas 18-year scotch for the first hour. Fingers crossed for a bacon bikini.
The Forge Launches Brunch
You’ll easily spend half the day lazing at the Forge’s new brunch, kicking off this Sunday with a ceviche bar and a spread that includes ricotta blintzes, Angus Short Rib Pot Pie and Malted Berry Pancakes. Helping you wash it all down: unlimited mimosas and bottomless Bloody Marys.
And once 9 o’clock rolls around, you’ll no doubt be ready to channel a bit of Rio with this Carnaval event on Lincoln Road. There’ll be samba dancers, batucada drummers and black-eyed-pea fritters, along with Brazilian cocktails like a Tangerine Honey Caipirinha. Which is sometimes your nickname.
Consuming $3 Beers and Shrimp Po’boys
The next best thing to being in New Orleans for Mardi Gras: being with Irina Shayk for Mardi Gras. But right after that: the Shrimp and Sausage Po’boys, Crawfish Étouffée and $3 drafts of Hoegaarden and Leffe at Angelique in the Gables. You’ll catch up with Irina on Wednesday.
You’ve probably been snapped by nightlife photographer—and UrbanDaddy contributor—Jipsy Nefarious at a party over the years. Try and spot yourself (and other familiar faces) on the walls of Butter Gallery on Tuesday, when she debuts her first solo show. Which she’ll probably also document.
