The weekend is taking it to eleven.
We know: you and your dog just want to hole up in a hotel to ride out the New Year’s madness in peace. Good news: L’Ermitage now offers a canine three-course menu―think salmon, organic chicken and sweet potatoes. Then Rex will be ready for his blowout and blueberry facial. All of this is true.
If your New Year’s Eve plans tend to remain fluid until the last minute, you’ll probably end up at a house party. Like the three-story bash at the Victorian in Santa Monica, from the Basement Tavern speakeasy on up. Admission includes two drinks, and yes, there will be scotch.
Or you could head to Pourtal wine bar and drop $20.11—that’ll get you three hours of bottomless bubbly from 9pm to midnight. You won’t need a reservation, but you’ll need to show up early enough to find room (they technically open at 4pm). Luckily, your top resolution involves punctuality.
Good way to start your 2011: by the pool at the W in Westwood. You’ll have two courses for $20.11 (we’d go for crabcakes and the All-in-One Breakfast Pizza). For another $20.11, you can get a bottle of wine (or bottomless Bloodys or mimosas). Suddenly it’s like you’re celebrating the year 4022.
And once the holidays are over, you can return your full attention to the Lakers. Anytime there’s a game happening, you can catch it over a burger at 25 Degrees, along with $3 beers, half-off shakes and fries, and drink specials. Think of it as a Kobe burger.
