Surfboards, Saxophones and a Wild Brunch Scene
The weekend is taking its talents to South Beach.
Just in time for your summer’s triumphant second half, the Webster is transforming into a surf store, selling beachy button-downs, boards and swim trunks. You will officially welcome it at a cocktail party tonight at 7pm. Then, at 10pm, it’s over to the Standard for surf movies by the pool. There’ll be a shuttle... or you could just surf there.
Your favorite burger-dispensing Airstream trailer just launched a covert menu that won’t be listed on the truck, so only insiders like you will even know it’s real and not just urban legend. When you get up to the window, ask for a Sloppy Dirty: slow-cooked brisket smothered in tangy BBQ sauce and topped with a poached egg. And make sure no one’s following you.
You’ve long recognized Overtown as a slice of downtown that’s brimming with art, music and good food. (Also: overpasses.) Saturday is your chance to blow it out down there with flowing vodka, a live saxophonist, sweet potato pie and a DJ spinning Motown. As far as we know, the saxophonist is not named Sergio.
