Things to do for July 15, 2010
Boozy Milkshakes, Lobster and a Road Trip Date
The weekend is wearing a lobster bib.
Lobsters. They’ve been so good to you over the years, so it only seems right to honor them with their own festival. Every night through the end of July, Rosebud is gracing you with a lobster-only menu featuring lobster salad, lobster egg rolls, butter poached lobster and lobster ravioli. Thank you, ocean.
Turns out, it’s National Ice Cream Month. But at Hobnob Tavern, it’s National Add Booze to Your Ice Cream Month. So you’ll want to grab a seat on the patio and check out their adult-y milkshakes, from the Chocolate Stout (Left Hand Stout, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce) to the Sparkling Lemonade (vodka, champagne and lemon sorbet). Your move, Ben & Jerry.
This Saturday night, you’ll be having appetizers at the Porter, dinner at Wisteria and dessert at the Urban Oasis Bed and Breakfast... and you’ll be doing it all with a bike helmet on. The Progressive Dinner Bicycle Tour is two wheels, three stops and nine courses of why-the-hell-not-ness. Free helmet check at participating restaurants.

Introducing the Extra 101 Workshop, a crash course on how to finally land that dream job as “Landscaper #1” or the coveted “Guy surrounded by starlets on yacht” spot. And the Oscar for “Least Awkward Fake Dinner Conversation” goes to...
A well-curated road-trip date can go a long way... and peppering in 13 local celebrity chefs couldn’t hurt, either. This Sunday, Doty, Fry, Gillespie, Hopkins and Co. will be rolling out their favorite dishes in Serenbe for the Southern Chefs Potluck. Oh, and Greg Best from Holeman & Finch will be supplying the Shine On Punch. We sense moonshine.
Six Courses of Bacon at 5 Seasons
Kevin Bacon has given us so much—Footloose, She’s Having a Baby... Footloose. But when actual bacon gets involved, things start to get a little more interesting. Six Degrees of Kevin & Bacon is a six-course dinner of bacon-inspired dishes paired with handpicked beer selections by brewmaster Kevin McNerney. Your cup runneth over, Mr. Bacon.
